| Bath
Golf Club - Affectionately
known as “Sham Castle” by the locals, the course earned
its nick-name from the neighbouring architectural folly Sham Castle.
The ‘castle’ stands in a field adjoining the course and
although appearing to be the entrance gate to an impressive baronial
hall, is in fact nothing more than a single wall.
Bath Golf Club, established in 1880, has one of England’s finest and oldest inland courses. The 18 hole, 6505 yard, par 71 course may not be the length that today’s course designers favour, but in the 1880s they knew how to create a challenge using the natural contours of a hilltop location. The course is full of variety and is laid out over fine “golfing country”. Springy downland turf over shallow soil and limestone ensures rapid draining and the course is usually found to be in superb condition. |

Brean
Golf Club Golf enthusiasts will love Brean Golf
Club! It's an 18 hole, 5893yds long and par 71, located at Brean Leisure
Park, in approximately 120 acres of lush green meadowland. Water features
come into play on many of the holes providing formidable hazards to
the flat landscape.
The greens are irrigated by a popup sprinkler and since the fairways are cut from meadowland, they remain lush even in drought and are well drained. Hence you'll find the course is seldom closed. Plus, with the course being on the coast, you'll find the fresh winds and breezes add to the challenge of the course! |

& Clifton Golf Club A
beautifully mature and undulating parkland course that measures 6,413
yards with a par of 70, Bristol & Clifton offers a varied and
beguiling test for all golfers. Regularly
a host to both English Golf Union and English Women's Golf Association
events, the course has earned its reputation as the finest in the
region.
In the summer, the course plays firm and fast, with lightning fast greens that frequently give a stimpmeter reading of over 11. In winter, or very wet conditions, the course is free draining; meaning that we rarely, if ever, close and winter tees and greens are seldom needed. |

Burnham
& Berrow Golf Club Burnham Golf Club was opened
in 1891. It was a nine hole course laid out amongst the sand dunes of
the Berrow Warren close to the Burnham lighthouse. It had been designed
by the golf professional at Royal North Devon, Charles Gibson, using
the design principles of the day; if there was a large sand dune you
hit the ball over it and if there was a deep hollow then there would
be a green. By 1896 the members wanted to extend the course to Berrow
Church and the Lords of the Manor agreed only if the name of the club
was changed to Burnham & Berrow Golf Club. |
